Professor Rob Sanson-Fisher

Professor Sanson-Fisher has been a member of the Leukaemia Foundation’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee since 2007, and a member of the Leukaemia Foundation Grant Review Committee since 2005.
Professor Sanson-Fisher is a research academic and Professor of Health Behaviour at the University of Newcastle. He has published more than 320 papers in peer reviewed journals and has a national and international reputation in the field of behavioural science.
He has provided successful leadership in a number of highly competitive research groups. These groups were characterised by their ability to attract external competitive funds, successfully train higher degree research students, and produce valued research outputs. These multidisciplinary research groups were focused on important outcomes including publications in peer-reviewed journals, invitations to important national and international conferences, and the adoption of the work into clinical public health policy and practice.
Over the course of his career, Professor Sanson-Fisher has been the inaugural Director of the Cancer Education Research Program, Centre for Health Advancement, National Institute of Cancer Control, and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Newcastle University. Currently, he is Acting Director of the CINSW.
