Join us on a two-day guided hike and get up close to the Hinterland’s natural beauty, taking in spectacular gorges, waterfalls, rock pools, scenic views and subtropical rainforest.
Every step you take is a step towards beating blood cancer with love, sweat and tears!
Leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma are all types of blood cancer and they can develop in anyone, of any age, at any time. Another 35 Australians are diagnosed every single day.
The money you raise during 55for5 will help more Australians with blood cancer survive and then go on to live a better quality of life.

Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk track
A total of 55km over two days.
Day 1: 32.5km through Mapleton National Park SEE THE MAP >
Overnight: Queensland Conference and Camping Centre in Mapleton
A $220 registration fee includes:
- Two nights of accommodation: Friday and Saturday
- Meals: Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Sunday breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea
- Transport between accommodation and walk entry/exits
- 55 for 5 souvenir
The registration fee is in addition to the minimum fundraising requirement of $555.
> All participants must be aged 18 or over on 18 August 2017.
> Running or jogging is prohibited as part of 55 for 5. It is a condition of our permit to hike in the national park that participants do not run or jog.
> 55 for 5 is a group activity. All hikers are required to stay within their assigned group and observe reasonable directions of the walk leader. If an individual fails to observe reasonable direction of the walk leader, 55 for 5 is no longer responsible for the individual.
> Under no circumstances are individuals to be left unaccompanied. If an individual becomes exhausted or injured they must liaise with the walk leader.
> The Leukaemia Foundation reserves the right to alter the trail without notice and/or cancel/postpone the event. If the event is cancelled participants can request a 50% refund of their registration fee.
> Please do not litter. Participants must respect the environment and other walkers by taking all rubbish with them.
> Dogs and smoking are not permitted in national parks.
> Each hiker must raise a minimum of $555 in addition to the non-tax deductible and non-refundable $200 registration fee to participate in the event.
