Dr Andrew Wei


Dr Wei has been a member of the Leukaemia Foundation’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee since 2007.

A Melbourne University medical graduate, he has specialist qualifications in haematology and a doctorate in molecular biology from research undertaken at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research.

He is Head of Leukaemia Services at the Alfred Hospital, and also runs the Alfred Haematology Molecular Diagnostics Unit and a Leukaemia Research Group at the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases.

He is a member of the Australian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG), Acute Myeloid Leukaemia sub-committee and the ALLG and Leukaemia Foundation scientific sub-committees. He coordinates a number of investigator-initiated clinical trials at the Alfred Hospital, with a focus on novel and targeted therapies for acute myeloid leukaemia.
